I am a novelist and short story writer, sharing my knowledge with other writers, both experienced and those just starting out.

I love writing! I began twenty five years ago after attending creative writing courses at Oaklands College, St. Albans and Berkhamstead. I have been scribbling ideas in note books, writing short stories and slaving over novels ever since.

Over those years I have won short story competitions both locally and in national magazines in the UK. I am a member of my local writer’s group, Harpenden Writers, and spent twelve months on the committee, running competitions and engaging fellow writers to give talks at our meetings. More recently, I have given seminars on short story writing myself.

As a writer, I recognise the hours of hard work that go into writing just a few thousand words and I know how precious that piece becomes. I am familiar with the hopeful feeling we have when we enter a competition, offer our work to someone for advice or send it off to an agent. And I’ve had my share of rejection slips and disappointment too!

Suzie always provides an insightful and helpful review of my manuscripts. She is good at identifying structural issues, but also has an eye for detail. She has a particular talent for creating believable relationships in her own work and brings this thoughtfulness into her review of the character dynamics in the writing of others. She is sensitive but truthful in her feedback, and I recommend her highly.
